In case you haven’t heard, I plan on moving to Palo Alto soon.

I’ll be so glad when I don’t have to rely on public transportation anymore (I’ll be able to ride my bike to work). Want to know how long it took me to get to work today? 3 ½ hours!

I left home at 8:45 to take the 48 bus down to the CalTrain station. This should have allowed me plenty of time to catch the 9:35 train. Not so! For no apparent reason, the 48 bus sometimes stops halfway to the CalTrain station and makes everyone wait for the next bus. I ended up getting to the CalTrain station at 9:50!

Distance traveled: about 2 miles
Time taken: 1 hour, 5 minutes

Further adding to the commute from hell: After getting on the CalTain, the damn thing broke down at Belmont! I’ll spare you further details, but in conclusion, public transportation would be nice if it didn’t suck so bad.
